The Semi-Automatic Rifle (Level 1)
This is a one-day course dealing with the history, mechanics, accessories and PRACTICAL use of the semi-automatic carbine. The AR-15 will be highlighted. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own or any other type of carbine including pistol caliber carbines. The course curriculum will be adjusted to accommodate all models brought to class. There are a limited number of rentals available. This course is N.R.A. certified.
Course
- Time: 8:00AM – Approx 4:00PM
- Snacks and beverages provided. Please make arrangements for lunch.
- Cost: $200.00. There is a $20.00 Range Fee.
- Discount for R&V Club members, previous SMD students, groups of two or more.

- Situational and barricade considerations.
- Close quarters and room clearing considerations. *
- Introduction to precision shooting.
Students To Bring:
- Rifle / Carbine (rentals available at an additional cost) and three (3) magazines.
(Handgun caliber carbines allowed for the course) - Preferred rifle sling. *
- Two hundred and fifty rounds of ammunition (no steel jacket, steel core, or armor piercing).
- Please bring your own eye and hearing protection.
- Notebook.
