Shotgun Dynamics

$175.00This is a one-day course dealing with the history, mechanics, accessories and PRACTICAL use of the
slide action (pump) and semi-automatic shotgun in hunting, trap, and defense. Attendees are encouraged to
bring their own though there are a limited number of rentals available.
Course
- Location: Ridge and Valley Rod & Gun Club, 7600 Blue Church Rd. South, Coopersburg, PA. 18036
- Time: 8:00AM – Approx 4:00PM
- Snacks and beverages provided. Please make arrangements for lunch.
- Cost: $175.00. R&V Club members, previous SMD students, groups of two or more: $160.00.
Every student who completes the course will get a $10 coupon towards the Ridge & Valley Tactical
Trap Match on Sunday April 7.
Cash, check, credit cards or VENMO accepted. Call to pre-register. A $50.00 deposit is required.
Classroom & Range
- History of the shotgun
- Mechanical operation and function.
- Gauge designation.
- Shotgun as a defensive firearm / advantages and limitations.
- Administrative and tactical reloading.
- Shooting techniques and positions.
- Situational and barricade considerations.
- Close quarters and room clearing considerations. *
- Introduction to Trap Shooting.
Students To Bring:
- shotgun (rentals available at an additional cost).
- Preferred sling. *
- One hundred (100) rounds of #7 ½ or #8 birdshot.
- Twenty five (25) rounds of OO or #4 buckshot .
- Ten (10) rounds of rifled or sabot slugs. *
**Note: Please be sure your shotgun can safely shoot slugs. Contact us if unsure.
- Please bring your own eye and hearing protection.
- Appropriate foul weather clothing if necessary.
